Pieter Vreugdenhil (1900 – 1958) was a fruit and veg buyer and seller; a wholesaler at the vegetable auction in Reeuwijk. Pieter was an influential man in Reeuwijk. He often visited the pastor.
The Boy Scout and Girl Guide Scouting movement in the Netherlands were always involved in our National Rembrance Day ceremony in Amsterdam. In 2019 it wanted to accentuate themes like freedom, rememberance and local war history. A team called “Freedom in Remembering” started a “Stories Project”. This was one of the stories.
